"Christian" in hurry for abortion; late for choir practice

Saturday (Mar. 22) we encountered a couple at the FPA mill on Sixth Ave. in San Diego during our usual sidewalk counseling ministry. The husband rushed his vehicle past us without taking literature and dropped his young wife off at the front door. As he pulled out of the parking lot, Pat White approached him. I was able to listen in on the conversation. He told Pat that the couple had a 2 year old and a 3 month old. The wife felt it was too soon to have another child and he felt things in their family were too financially tight. He had prayed about the situation and was uncomfortable with aborting, but he had left the final decision up to his wife.

As Pat plead with him to go up and retrieve his wife, he seemed nervous and told her he had to go because he was late for choir practice at his church where his father is the "minister." He did agree to pull over and "pray about" going in to get his wife. After what must have been an entire 20 seconds of agonizing prayer (not!) he sped off, leaving his child to be tortured and murdered by the Butcher of Hillcrest.

My husband and daughter, who were also sidewalk counseling and picketing with us, got in the car and searched at some of the churches down the street for him, but could not find him. We had wanted to tell his pastor/father why his son was late for choir practice, but did not know which church to call. He drove a black SUV with decals on the back side windows advertising "A-1 Bail Bonds."

I have personally taken much heat for our Bloodguilt Outreaches to the churches. This story illustrates why these outreaches are so important. The church is not doing her job and our Christian families are murdering their kids at a shocking rate. I doubt that a day goes by when we are at the mills that we don't see Christian symbols on the vehicles that drop off young women for abortions. This is a shame and a disgrace. The blood of the innocent covers the hands of pastors and elders throughout our county who refuse to teach their congregations not to kill their babies. I hold that man's father just as culpable for the crime as the son because obviously, if the young man had to even bother to pray about whether or not he should kill his kid, then some very basic spiritual teaching did not take place in this man's life. It is long past time for our church leaders and congregations to stop living in denial about the slaughter of tiny babies and repent, speak out against child-killing, and then take direct action to render meaningful assistance to the women entering our counties abortion mills. This is not being done. May God have mercy on us and grant that repentance soon!
