Ken Scott Out of Jail - Letter from Ken

To All Our Friends and Pro-Life Family,

I'm out of Arapahoe County Jail after the first of three Disorderly Conduct sentences for preaching and reading Psalms 94 supposedly too loud on a public sidewalk.

Jo and I want to thank everyone that prayed for us, all those who sent letters to me in jail and those of you who sent letters to Judge Jauch at Littleton County Court. This Judge chose to handle 7 trials, 5 for myself two of which were sign cases, one for my wife about a new sign ordinance and one for Jason Troyer for Disorderly Conduct. All of us were found guilty- surprise. Please continue to pray for County Court Judge Jauch to find the Lord Jesus Christ before it is to late and he faces Him in person, because he is looking to retire sometime in the not to distant future.

He can be contacted at:

Arapahoe County Court, division A-1
1790 Littleton Blvd.
Littleton, Colorado 80120.

When in jail the many letters that I received kept the deputies talking about how much mail I was getting. There ended up being over 200 letters, thank you again. One even came from an atheist man from Germany who saw the story on the internet. He believes that abortion is wrong, but doesn't believe in Jesus, we need to pray for him also. I also received several from Canada. There were many letters with Gospel tracts and literature about abortion in them, these were of great use when witnessing. The many Christmas Cards were also a great witness about the reason for the season of Our Lord and Savor's Birthday. Then many families had children draw pictures that were so great, (thanks again) the reason again is about the children that can't speak for themselves. God's gifts!!!

I'm sorry I didn't get to write everyone from jail, but I was able to answer everyone who sent a self addressed envelope with their letter. Inmates and deputies asking questions about my mail opened the door for many discussions about abortion and Jesus. I was surprised this time to see how most inmates and also many deputies agreed that abortion was murder and wrong.

I was moved 10 times during this stay, which caused me to meet more people and hand out literature and some Bible Studies outlines sent from Pastor Rusty Thomas. There were several people who sent in business cards with their favorite Bible verses, which encouraged me probably more than people that looked at them or took a few of them. I found that the graphic pictures of the aborted babies caused the most discussions with the nonbelievers who would most of the time totally agree and didn't always believe that this was done in America.

I chose to work for the jail while being held to gain good time status to decrease the sentence time by one-third. This was for getting out sooner for Missionary Service to my wife.

In the past I was single and wasn't responsible to take care of a wife, I also wanted to get back to the abortion clinics sooner. Jo has also been arrested more than myself, but has won most or had them dropped before trial. We have been arrested about 170 times including rescuing and have together won all but about 20 cases, God is good all of the time!!!

Jo and I would especially like to thanks the people and groups that put out the fact that I was in jail for street preaching and reading a Bible in front of Abortionist Edwin O'laughlin's house at 9053 East Evans Court, Denver, Colorado.

If you get a chance please email the following web sites and thank them for supporting us.

1. www.kgov.com  weekday radio show at KLT670 am from 7-8pm and on real player with Pastor Bob Enyart from Denver Bible Church in Denver, Colorado, who also held pickets at the abortionist's home every Saturday morning while I was in jail. He also holds 8 holiday home pickets at the abortionist home.

2. www.mttu.com  with Steve Wetzel of Missionaries To The Unborn who hasAlternative links to other many Pro-Life sites on his web site. We have many great stories from every state, it was always great to rescue with "Elisha" at the abortion clinic doors before FACE was inacted by President Bill Clinton and now to see him at State and National events.

3. www.theheartofthematter.org   with Pastor Ralph Ovadal out of Wisconsin. He's a good friend and a great man of God. Please take the time to listen to his show on the internet.

4. www.christiangallery.com   with Neal Horsley from Atlanta. He ran a clip of the the police servailence film taken outside of the abortionist's home and has run many stories from what is happening in Denver and elsewhere.

5. www.operationsaveamerica.org   with Pastor Flip Benham who is always a pleasure to be with and is a great leader at State and National events to expose the evil of Abortion, Homosexuality, Apathic Churches, Mosques, Courthouses filled with lost Judges and Capitol Buildings filled with lost politicians.

6. www.operationrescue.org   west with Troy Newman who is now moved to Wichita, Kansas to focus on late Term Abortionist George Tiller.

7. Thanks to Cheryl Sullenger of California Life Coalition who put out the address of the Jail and Judge to write, as well. And to thanks to those whom I may have forgotten.

While in jail the County Court sent out notice to home address to have my opening briefs on two other cases done immediately for appeal because the transcripts were finally completed. They sent this out to home address 10 days after I was put into jail and gave 20 days to have it turned in. Jo had gone to Florida for thanksgiving and a family wedding and got back and it was already due. I sent in a request for a "Motion for Extension of Time", because it was already due and I was in jail. Surprise the District Judge Denied my Motion for an Extension of Time, so that means that probably within the next couple of weeks they'll be sending me back for another Disorderly Conduct charge for disturbing the peace by preaching and reading a Bible on a public sidewalk and this time they had counter protester in the front yard of the Abortionists home. The other case was for having a sign bigger than 18 inches by 24 inches in the abortionist's neighborhood. This was a new Arapahoe County ordinance they passed because of our protests. We were not in the neighborhood, but were convicted anyway. Jo has a sign case also and has one of the best Colorado Christian Attorneys appealing her case.

Please pray for Mike Norton past U.S. Attorney Colorado under President Reagan. My last trial was for having a sign which said "Jesus King of Kings", but it was 24 inches by 32 inches. I was trying to prove selective prosecution by the police and county ordinance, but they still made it stand up in court and I was found guilty. As things stand right now we are back out at the mill and preparing for the next missionary tour in jail. Thank you again for your prayers and letters, they really made a difference.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Ken and Jo Scott
