Pittsburgh Christian Radio Station Mocks Ten Commandments Stand in Alabama

WORD-FM and the Marty Minto Show mock Prolifers

Pittsburgh, PA - WORD-FM, a "Christian" radio station in Pittsburgh, PA, mocked those who are standing up for the Ten Commandments monument in Alabama on last Friday's "Marty Minto Show."

The host of the live talk show, Marty Minto - a former police officer - mocked long time prolife activist Rev. Rusty Thomas (Elijah Ministries).

In his mimicking Rev. Thomas, Minto portrayed him as a brain-dead red neck, with a southern twang added for effect. In fact, all of those involved in the Ten Commandments stand in Alabama, were mocked in the same manner.

This coming from a Christian Radio station. And we wonder why the church is America is so weak and impudent.

Minto said that the Ten Commandments monument should just be moved, and chided Pat Mahoney and those who were standing in defense of the monument. Minto's fall back was to say the New Testament did not say we should defend the Ten Commandments.

This "cop-out" is typical of today's wimpy American Christianity. In their mind, we are to retreat, and retreat, and retreat. It is only, "when they tell me I can't preach the gospel" that they *say* they willing to take a stand. No one can know for sure - as they have never taken a stand that will personally cost them something. It is the "idea" of taking a stand that they embrace - but only when it effects them "personally."

Guess what boys and girls, *when* it gets to that point, it is too late. That whole thought line is "selfish" Christianity. They are Christians who will only act when it effects THEM. Reaching out and effecting the next generation? Not gonna happen. It's only, "When they tell me I can't preach the gospel."

Gone are the words of Christ, "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friend." Instead it is "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life ... for himself." Such is the "me" attitude of today's American church.

And we wonder why the heathen rage today. We embrace the church of non-sacrifice.

MTTU News made repeated attempts to contact Marty Minto of WORD-FM and the staff of WORD-FM, only to have our emails (after the first) to be *blocked* by Minto.

Minto proclaims he answers all emails. In this he may be right. His response is to block the ability of those who disagree with him to write and ask questions.
