The US vs. James Kopp:A Conclusion in Search of its Evidence

Crime/Corruption Breaking News News Keywords: KOPP,FBI Source: Life Dynamics Incorporated Posted on 09/07/2001 14:57:57 PDT by RobertJames http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3b9942e55ab4.htm   James Kopp's Website http://www.jameskopp.com/   Long-time, pro-life activist James Charles ("Jim") Kopp is unjustly accused of the 1998 murder of Buffalo abortionist Barnett Slepian. Please note: This page is dedicated to the position that Jim Kopp is innocent and deserves the full support of the pro-life community. Our support for Jim in no way indicates support for violence against abortionists. James Kopp's Website http://www.jameskopp.com/   Since his arrest in Dinan, France on March 29, 2001, Jim has steadfastly maintained his innocence. We accept Jim's declaration of innocence because it is consistent with his character and with his words and actions over many years of selfless, non-violent pro-life work.

Jim Kopp's claim of innocence is also supported by the findings of an investigation conducted by Life Dynamics Inc., a respected, pro-life legal aid organization. Thanks to their report, which used affidavits, interviews with witnesses, and extradition documents from the FBI and the Amherst (New York) Police Department, the case against Jim Kopp appears to be unraveling. In an article published by WorldNetDaily entitled "Abortionist Killer Suspect Framed?", Life Dynamics President Mark Crutcher explained that the evidence in the case does not add up.

"There's a lot of discrepancies in the evidence against him, a lot of inconsistencies and a lot of bizarre things," he said. "There were serious improprieties and possibly even criminal acts by the FBI and / or the Amherst Police Department," Crutcher continued. "We believe we made a powerful case that Mr. Kopp was selected for this persecution, that the FBI planted evidence, that there may have been perjury committed by law enforcement - including the FBI - in grand jury testimony."

Those who question Jim Kopp's wisdom in avoiding arrest and fleeing the country should consider the chilling conclusion of the Life Dynamics report:"remember that the revelations contained in this report came to light only because of the discrepancies between what the Amherst Police said in their extradition documents, and what the FBI said in theirs. If Kopp had been apprehended in the United States, there would have been no extradition documents, these discrepancies would have been secretly "worked out" before trial, and Kopp would be awaiting a lethal injection right now."

It is vitally important for Jim to receive a fair trial so that the truth may come out and so that Jim may have the opportunity to clear his name and regain his freedom. A fair trial is also extremely important for the sake of Dennis and Loretta (Marra) Malvasi and for the integrity of the pro-life movement. The Malvasis are charged with aiding Jim during the time period after the Slepian shooting and before Jim's arrest. The parents of two, small children, they are being held without bond despite the fact that Loretta's family has offered to post a $1 million collateralized bond for her release. U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara's refusal to set bond for a young mother charged with a non-violent offense is outrageous and is further proof of the political nature of this case.

Please pray for justice for Jim Kopp and for Dennis and Loretta (Marra) Malvasi. Help with legal expenses and informing others is greatly needed and will be most appreciated!

Mailing Address for Jim Kopp:

James Charles Kopp
S-127 Maison D'Arret 56
Boulevard Jacque Cartier 35000 Rennes, France

Jim very much appreciates letters of support and encouragement. Unfortunately, the jail in Rennes limits the number of postage stamps that prisoners are allowed to purchase. Also, stamps cannot be mailed to prisoners. Letters to prisoners are opened and postage stamps, which are considered contraband, are removed. Because of this problem, Jim regrets that he is unable to reply to everyone who writes to him.
