THE MOCKERY OF MOURNING

“THE MOCKERY OF MOURNING”

In recent weeks our nation has been shocked by the slayings of Matthew Sheperd and Dr. Slepian. The outpouring of grief has been nothing less than astounding. One might stop to wonder what had these two men done that so electrified our society. A fair question to be sure. Alas, the answer is not that they were great philanthropists or brave policemen killed in the line of duty. Mr. Sheperd was supposedly killed because he was a homosexual although Wyoming police are quick to point out that this was not the primary motive for the beating that led to his untimely demise. It was a robbery that went way wrong. He had apparently been picked up by two other men posing as fellow gays.

In fact one report said that Matthew had made a pass at one of the men. They lured him out of the bar and subsequently robbed and beat him leaving him for dead tied to a fence. These men should be executed for the willful taking of another human life irrespective of their victims sexual deviance.

If one is to believe the ‘popular’ media, Trent Lott (the Senate Majority leader) is to blame for saying that homosexuality is a disease; that is in need of a cure. Like these two punks hung onto every word he spoke. I seriously doubt they know who Mr. Lott is much less care what he said.

As for Dr. Slepian: He is not exactly Louis Pasteur when it comes to doctors. No, ‘Dr.’ Slepian was an obstetrician/gynecologist who had a little side business in Buffalo killing the babies that were ‘unplanned.’ So tragic was his sudden death that the President of the United States sent a personal note to be read at his funeral expressing his and the ‘first’ lady’s condolences.

Justice will be merciless to those who have deprived these two of their lives, as it should be – but for the wrong reasons. Their ‘victims’ are victims precisely because of who and what they were. These were not hapless souls who wandered into the path of a rampaging sociopath. They were singled out because they represent an abomination in the sight of God. This is not meant to conclude that this is what their murderers had in mind as they were killing them. Godly men do not act outside of the parameters that God has established.

The abortionist, who, “only performed abortions as a small part of his practice.” should have been executed by the state not a vigilante. Mr. Sheperds’ “lifestyle” should be so stigmatized that he wouldn’t be sitting in a bar in Wyoming trying to pick up other men.

One nation under God would be mourning the death of these two men because of the loss of their immortal souls. How tragic that across this nation deceitful men and women ascend the pulpit and lie to those gathered as to the final resting place of these two. Not discounting that it is possible, I have a hard time believing that these two had a deathbed conversion. Rejecting a loving God has a tendency to harden your heart like iron. Ask Pharaoh.

Truth is a daily casualty from the ‘church’ in America. Who will stand and speak forcefully, but with all the love that God has, that these two are more than likely doing a slow burn?

What must God think? Two men whose sin is worn as a badge of honor die, and we call out our best law enforcement personnel to apprehend their murderers.

Where is the national mourning for the child killed by an errant bullet from a drive by? Where is the sense?

Shame on you America
