STRANGE RAIN

“Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: ‘Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.’ Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.’” (Jeremiah 1:9-12)

For a few years now, Operation Save America has been made cognizant of the fact that wherever the Lord sends us, He does indeed watch over His word to perform it. There is indisputable evidence of God’s judgment and His blessing falling upon our nation depending on how the different cities respond to God’s word and warning through this prophetic ministry. We have seen natural disasters strike on the heels of most of our events all over this nation. Floods, earthquakes, fires, tornadoes, and such like have been Heaven’s response to a nation that has shut their eyes, stopped their ears, and hardened their heart to God’s command, “Let My Babies Go!”

We have also have witnessed God’s blessing of peace come upon cities who received God’s word and warning. Murder ceased, crime went down, and entire cities experienced the joyful sound of safety in their streets. But what I’m about to share with you is one of the most strangest manifestation of God fulfilling His word with signs and wonders following that we have thus far experienced. Page 2 contains the bizarre article in the Wichita Eagle (there have been 3 altogether and yet it still remains a baffling mystery) and the subsequent pages contain our explanation. The newspaper in typical fashion refused to publish our response. Regardless, God’s word and truth marches on and to Him be all the glory.

Husks of corn rain from sky

By Suzanne Perez Tobias and Sara Shepherd The Wichita Eagle

For residents in some east Wichita neighborhoods Friday afternoon, the weather was particularly strange: Partly cloudy, with a chance of corn husks. People in homes near 13th and Woodlawn reported seeing what looked like extraordinarily large, dried corn husks spiraling down from the sky about 6 p.m. Paul Corn (yes, that’s his real name) was playing host to a family reunion in his back yard in the 1000 block of Vincent Lane on Friday afternoon. He said the family stopped swimming when they noticed something strange spiraling down from the sky. They waited for it to land to see what it was, but the frond came to rest just over the fence in a neighbor’s yard. Then there were more. And more. Each one, about 30 inches long and 3 inches wide. “They just kept coming down,” he said. “There had to be, I don’t know, a thousand of these things.” The family was curious enough to jump out of the pool and into the car, driving a short distance around the neighborhood to find more, which they did.

There is no telling how many of the leaves fell, but several were seen lying along Armour Street, between Central Avenue and 13th Street. Officials with Weather Data Inc., a local forecasting service, said they had received no reports of the corn-husk shower. But meteorologist Jeff House seemed intrigued. “Corn husks falling from the sky. Hmmm,” he said. “That is odd.” Could they have been stirred up by a tornado in some Iowa cornfield? Blown hundreds of miles through thick summer air, only to billow down on back yards and driveways in east Wichita? “That’s a good thought,” House said. “But no chance. Not today.” Our region — in fact, the whole country — was tornado-free on Friday. It wasn’t even particularly windy, House said. Just really hot. So maybe August turned that Iowa corn into popcorn, and the remnant husks exploded into the atmosphere? “Doubtful,” House said. “Whatever it was, it was probably caused by man.”

Some residents speculated that the leaves fell from a plane. Air traffic authorities could not be reached for comment Friday night. One more theory: University of Nebraska fans were behind it. Gearing up for another Cornhusker football season, they decided to blanket their southern rivals in a giant — and ingenious, we might add — Cornhusker Practical Joke.

Bill Harper is a member of the Wichita-based Kansas Cornhusker Club. “We may live in the heart of Kansas,” says the group’s Web site. “But our hearts belong to the HUSKERS!!” Harper denied having anything to do with Friday’s incident. “Oh, not that I know of. I don’t think any of us are behind it,” Harper said. He noted, however, that the group’s annual picnic is scheduled for 5 p.m. today, at the Sedgwick County Extension building at 21st Street and Ridge Road.

Mike Nieman, a witness to the mysterious corn episode, was visiting Wichita from Los Angeles. He said it seemed fitting for such a strange thing to happen in Kansas. “It’s just a magical place,” he joked. “It’s the land of Oz.”

The Squandering of Our Godly Heritage
A Prayer at the Solemn Assembly – July 15, 2001, OSA Wichita
By Pastor Daniel Thompson

“Lord, we come to You this evening from a place where swine feed. Our country is a prodigal…we left Your house many years ago. Unlike our forefathers, we took the gift of our godly heritage that “fell to us”…”gathered it all together”…and took our “journey into a far country.”…a strange country…a place a great distance from you and your house.

Our forefathers who remained in your house, were moved by your Spirit and framed the foundation of our country… Other forefathers who remained in your house, were moved by your Spirit to live and die for this foundation and this great building… Forty years ago, moved by our own spirit of rebellion…thinking You to be our debtor…demanded of you the “portion of our goods that should fall to us.” We “gathered all together”…our heritage…it’s foundation…and its building…and we left you and your house and took our journey. And while we journeyed, we joined ourselves to every harlot philosophy that came along side us…and we squandered our heritage on selfish and “riotous living.” And we spent it all! It is virtually all gone!

Now there has arisen “a mighty famine in our land.” “There is a desperate shortage of the truth of who we were, and who we are, and who you intended us to be.

There is an abundance of “tolerance” but a mighty famine of “truth.” There is an abundance of “sensuality” but a mighty famine of “spirituality.” There is an abundance of “information” but a great famine of “discernment.” There is an abundance of “regard for temporal things” but a great famine of “regard for the eternal.” There is an abundance of “compromise and mixture” but a mighty famine of “faithfulness, courage, loyalty and honor.” There is an abundance of “talk and different opinions” but a great famine of “prayer and intercession.” There is an abundance of “feasting” but a mighty famine of “those who mourn.” There is an abundance of “preaching” but a mighty famine of “doing.” There is an abundance of “lightness” but a mighty famine of “those that are serious, sober, and watchful.” There is an abundance of “those professing to live for You” but a mighty famine of “those willing to suffer for You.” There is an abundance of “love for ourselves” but a mighty famine of “love for others.” There is an abundance of “value placed on one’s own life” but a mighty famine “on the value of others.”

And because of this great famine, there is nothing left for our country to eat! Only husks for food that are meant for swine. We have ended up where all prodigals end up, being nourished on a diet of swine’s food. There is nothing to feed our people and the generations to come except the “husks” that swine eat.

We taste the “husks” throughout our culture. We taste the “husks” in our humanistic philosophies. We taste the “husks” in our government, judicial system, and in the public education of our children. We taste the “husks” in the recording of our history, in our sciences, literature, and medicine. We taste the “husks” in our media, arts, and entertainment. We taste the “husks” in our most sacred institutions, home, marriage, and even in the church. We taste the “husks” of our country’s values, it’s ideals, it’s priorities, it’s worship.

We taste the “husks” of our entire society…where Oprah Winfrey is our prophet; religion, our high priest; and money our king! The leaven has spread throughout the entire lump! And our bellies are full of swine’s food! And we have filled the bellies of generations with this food…food that will never satisfy their longings, their desires, their ambitions, their hunger…or meet their deepest needs. The greatest evidence of our distance from you is found in a law that permits the murder of children…The greatest evidence of our country’s diet of swine’s food is that many are not even sure if it is wrong! “Truly the crown has fallen from our head…Our honor is brought to the dust.”

It was once said by a very evil and powerful man, “If a people lose their heritage they can be persuaded of almost anything.” We have been persuaded of almost everything…except truth! THAT WE REMAIN UNPERSUADED! “Truth has fallen in the streets,” Because it slipped through our own hands. We your church would like to be excused from this matter…we would like your gaze to be upon others…but we know deep in our hearts that we are much to blame…your gaze is upon us…the cock is crowing…may we return to our homes and “weep bitterly.”

King Hezekiah felt little concern that he was leaving his children an empty treasury of all that his forefathers had stored up, his greatest concern was peace and prosperity in his days. Surely our sin has found us out! It is known what your attitude is towards the man who hides his one talent…it is yet to be known what your attitude will be towards those that have hidden five. Years of self-interest, self-seeking, self promoting, self indulgence…all the eating, drinking, and making merry…the building bigger and bigger barns…has come at a great price…the lives of millions of innocent children.

We your people are “coming to our senses.” We are beginning to think again of You and Your house…we want to begin our journey home. “Father, we have sinned against heaven and before You. We are no more worthy to be called Your son.” We beg Your forgiveness. Please look upon us…even though we are a “great way off” help us to make our way back to You…to Your house…and our godly heritage.

In the name of Your Son….AMEN.

A Response to the Wichita Eagle Concerning the Corn Husks:

In response to the current “unexplainable” cornhusks that fell from the sky over east Wichita on August 3rd (See all three articles from the Wichita Eagle dated August 4th, 7th, 8th), we offer the following explanation.

Pastor Daniel Thompson of El Dorado Christian Fellowship offered a passionate and pointed prayer at the citywide Assembly of Repentance and Prayer on July 15th, 2001. This event was the beginning of the Summer of Mercy Renewal that acknowledged the killing of innocent children in our city. This prayer refers to the “husks” that people who have departed from God and his Word, are “feasting” upon. (See attached prayer.)

It is clear that God is speaking to us as a city regarding our spiritual condition. We live in a city where children are murdered weekly by abortion and we have largely ignored their plight. These husks, which fell from the sky, give evidence to the prayer that God has a serious controversy with this nation and our city. A passive and silent church, fearful and tolerant leaders in all levels of our government, and unattached and disinterested population of citizens have brought us to this critical hour.

We must remember, “It takes a village to kill a child.”

The hope for our nation and the city of Wichita is to acknowledge our participation in the sin of abortion, assume our responsibility before God, and rise up and declare “no more” in our city.

——————————————————————————–

This particular prayer offered by Pastor Daniel Thompson brought about the desired brokenness we prayerfully sought God for at the Solemn Assembly. Another interesting phenomena was the actual timing of the Solemn Assembly. Unbeknownst to us at the time, the word of God declared, “On the 15th day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation…(Numbers 29:12a).” Imagine our surprise and great joy when Pastor Bill Shanks from New Orleans informed us of this Scripture and the fact that we had fulfilled it exactly on July 15th in the year of our Lord 2001. Holy Ghost pandemonium broke out as the shofars blasted the trumpet sound of revelation. Even in our ignorance, God was faithful to lead us to fulfill His word. We give Him all the glory, praise and honor that is due His holy name!

Another interesting sign that came forth upon Wichita was an earthquake that shook the city upon our departure. The trend and pattern remains and is unmistakable. God once again watched over His word to perform it. It therefore behooves those of us who have eyes to see, to let us truly see, and those of us who have ears to hear, to let us truly hear what the Spirit is saying in this hour, and those of us who have hearts, let us respond correctly to God.

God is shaking the heavens and the earth. This time is set for the rise and fall of many as God sends forth the sword of His Spirit which is the word of God. The neutral zone and the gray areas are quickly disappearing and we must decide whether we are for or against our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Abortion is God’s dividing line and the tip of the sword that plunges into the heart of America. What we say and do concerning the “least of these” to a large extent determines where we stand with the Almighty (Matthew 25:45,46). Many reading this newsletter may be shocked and dismayed at this statement. Some of you will dismiss it altogether, but in this generation that is where the battles rages the fiercest and where are the good soldiers of Jesus Christ? Only you can answer that question. A dying nation awaits our response.

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

On my return back from the road (over two months) this e-mail greeted me. Liz from Chicago went through the Kingdom Leadership Institute last year. Her family was dramatically transformed. They embraced the Biblical worldview of family, children, and home education and entered the battle. As a result, another precious arrow for the Lord is coming forth and another notorious death camp bites the dust. Praise God for the faithful saints who stood in the gap and made up the hedge till the Lord arose and scattered His enemies. Keep shining the light of truth in the midst of this grave darkness. Your work shall have a reward in Jesus’ Holy Name!

Hi Rusty!

It’s Liz from Chicago. I’m just writing to say hello and to let you know some good news. I’m 7- 8 weeks pregnant! We’re happy and some friends and family were a little shocked. My husband’s family looks at it negative but that doesn’t really matter. I started volunteering my time at a crisis pregnancy center. I give three hours of my time a week. It’s a little start but we all have to start somewhere. How’s your wife doing? When is she due? It’s exciting to experience a new life. I have a praise report. The abortion clinic that was on Cass Ave ( the 1st clinic we visited during the KLI) closed this past week. They sold the building and the building is going to be torn down. Well, I gotta go. Hope to hear from you soon!

THE LORD’S FREE MAN

“I therefore the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to have a walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.” (Ephesians 4:1)

Knowing the paradox of the Kingdom, it is important for us to become prisoners of the Lord first, in order to experience the freedom of Christ. Surely that was my experience as I went before the judge in Wichita KS. Upon my arrival, we were informed that a woman judge was presiding. Typically, women judges have strong feministic leanings. I turned to my wife and said, “strike one.” To find some solace, I turned to the Scriptures only to find that our Bible reading schedule was in the book of Job. I turned to my wife and uttered, “strike two.” As I was reading the Scriptures, there were two passages that leapt from the pages and convinced me that strike three was on the way. Speaking of the Lord, the book of Job declared, “If He passes by, imprisons, and gathers to judgment, then who can hinder Him (Job 11:10, 12:14)?” Needless to say, a bleak outcome of my court trial seemed to be inevitable. But the Lord had mercy and actually granted me great favor before this judge whom I suspect is a believer in our Master.

After reading my charge and waving my right to an attorney, she asked my about conducting a court trial. My response went something like this, “Mam, if I thought pursuing a court trial would honor my Lord and help save the lives of children, then most certainly that would be a course worth pursuing. However, since I don’t believe that would be possible, I throw myself at the mercy of God and the considerate judgment of this court.” This response brought a smile to her lips. She went on to ask me where I was from and what was my occupation. I told her I was from Waco, TX and that I was minister of the Gospel of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Usually, this confession gets me into deeper trouble, but not today. She then asked me when I was going to leave Wichita. My response was, “depending on the decision of this court, I was planning on leaving tomorrow morning.” Again, a smile came to her lips as she fined me $150.00 dollars and six months non-reporting probation. As I was leaving, she turned to me with a smile and a gleam in her eye and said, “Reverend Thomas, stay out of trouble.” Thus I remain the Lord’s free man.

Come to Washington D.C. September 6-9, 2001

Pat Mahoney, Keith Tucci. Troy Newman, Flip Benham and several other leaders are calling Christians to come to Washington D.C., September 6-9, 2001. A prophetic response from the Church of Jesus Christ must be made to President George W. Bush’s statement concerning embryonic fetal tissue research. It is absolutely imperative for us to stand upon the principle that all human life, no matter how small, is sacred unto God and worthy of a defense.

Please read our press release issued the day after the Presidential speech and also “The Bush Decision, Not the Wisdom of Solomon” by Rev. Benham at operationsaveamerica.org.

The event will begin on Thursday September 6, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. on the steps of the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Please come! Air fares to D.C. are as cheap as they have been in several years.

The Hotel arrangements have been secured under Operation Save America at the Embassy Square Summerfield Suites. The rooms are $119.00 per night. For Washington DC, this is as inexpensive as it gets. The phone # for reservations are (202) 659-9000. It is imperative that we muster as many people as possible to come and rescue these precious children, restore their humanity, and put back a face to these children our government and culture is seeking to remove. For more information, please call (540) 373-8099 or check the web Generationlife@aol.com

SIGN THE PROCLAMATION
